Adventures in Tenor Guitar

Four strings and the truth

Several years ago now and on a whim I bought a tenor guitar.

Four strings - tuned to fifths, the same a a viola or a mandola. Several years went by, and with them, much gathering of dust. Then doing lockdown I got it out again and started playing in earnest. Not long after I went into Hobgoblin Music in Bristol and saw this lovely - and irresistible - tenor guitar made by David Oddy  in Newton Abbot. Now I started playing tenor guitar in earnest and much more seriously!

There aren't many tenor guitar players around and fewer still in the Americana world - Diana Jones, Cat Clyde and Willie Tea Taylor (who only plays tenor guitar). It is a lovely instrument and I am very pleased to have joined this niche community!
